  • Consult with administrators and instructors of non-U.S. post-secondary institutions on faculty development
  • Present lectures at graduate and undergraduate levels
  • Participate in or lead seminars or workshops at non-U.S. post-secondary academic institutions
  • Develop and/or assess academic curricula or educational materials at non-U.S. post-secondary academic institutions
  • Conduct teacher-training programs at the tertiary level

Mongolian Fulbright Specialists Program Overview:

Professor Hinchman is requested to teach vocal and artistic performance to students of the college of Music and Dance as well as singers of the Theater of Opera and Ballet. The college of Music and Dance has a vocal department that offers BA and Master level studies. The voice faculty has 9 members and 140 students. She will be requested to give master classes to all students and faculty members as well as individual training and workshops. Also Prof. Hinchman will sit on the vocal final exams and help to grade students. By helping with exams she will be able to give more advise with curriculum and lessons and then see the project through to grading, thus seeing what information was thoroughly learned and what information would need to be re-examined. At the opera theater she will be requested to work mostly with future opera singers.

Program Purpose:

There is a great demand today for Mongolian young teachers to interact with Foreign faculty members. Due to lack of resources not everyone is able to get access to contemporary opera techniques or find out more about the modern teaching methodologies and etc. Moreover, our Mongolian vocal students, faculty members and opera staff are eager to know more about the American vocal standard. The professional, singer/professor, Pamela Hinchman, will introduce American vocal technique and song repertoire into the curriculum of the College of Music and Dance, touching on such composers as Corigliano, Copland, Bernstein, Barber and/or Menotti. She will culminate her work here with a recital of American music.
